Yesterday's run #3088 by Sim Sala Bim took a small and select group of misfits all the way to Bukit Mertajam. The 10k+ route took the the group climbing and crawling up the steep and very muddy hillside for about 400 meters until a real trail appeard which brought them past grand trees to the telecom tower at the top. Sim claimed that the whole run was on trails, but defenitions of trails are relative it seems.
Here is how the 19 souls that turned up fared:
7 went all the way, hosting stunning scenery, views over the dam, numerous creek crossings. And very tricky route down at the end back to run site, which Gobbles and Skidmark enjoyed on their asses.
From the rest, some LCB'ers and some casual walkers exploring the hillside. One got injured 100 meters into the run, missing one of the very overgrown rain gutters and needing 4 stiches by cute local nurse at the nearby clinic. And notably one managed to get lost just 5 minutes into the jungle, needing rescue (by Sim Sala Bim and just injured and still bleeding hasher) demonstrating a notable lack of spacial awareness and preparation.
In short an eventful run, that will be remembered for quite some time by the attendees.
