Run #3164 by Tubby at Unknown
Run Report
Run #3164 kicked off less like a hash and more like a circus that had raided a costume shop and a Danish liquor cabinet. Tubby, celebrating his 60th lap around the sun, decided subtlety was for walkers and unleashed a full-blown Lucky Luke-themed extravaganza. Shirts, props, and pre-run shots had the pack wobbling before a single step was taken. The mission? Hunt down the four elusive Dalton brothers—each conveniently guarding a beer stop somewhere along a suspiciously long 12 km “road run.” From the get-go, it was clear this wasn’t your average pavement plod… it was a booze-fueled treasure hunt through George Town.
Trail-wise, the hare kept things deceptively simple—low elevation, high temptation. Four beer stops spaced just right to ensure that by the third Dalton brother, most of the front runners had downgraded themselves to enthusiastic staggerers. Checks were less about solving trail and more about figuring out which direction led to the next drink. Shortcuts were taken, rules were bent, and dignity was abandoned somewhere around kilometer six. Weather played along nicely, humid enough to justify every sip, but not enough to kill anyone outright—though a few came close.
The post-run scene was a full-on feast, thanks to Tubby’s generous (and possibly dangerous) hospitality. With Hari Raya just wrapped up, a parade of visitors and returners showed up like flies to nasi lemak, swelling the crowd and the chaos. Just when things couldn’t get weirder, a gang of wild boars crashed the party—clearly drawn by the noise, the food, or the scent of 51 sweaty hashers behaving badly. They took one look at the madness and probably decided even they had standards.
Circle? Absolute carnage. Your scribe (regrettably) recalls very little beyond the Circle Master going full tyrant mode and an impressive tally of 12 down-downs executed in increasingly questionable positions using equally questionable props. Charges flew, songs were butchered, and someone definitely deserved punishment—but who knows who anymore? It was one of those circles where memory loss is both a symptom and a blessing.
Verdict: Brilliantly chaotic run. Tubby proves that even a road run can be dangerously fun with enough creativity and alcohol. Long live the Dalton brothers—and may the boars return next week in our bowls. On On — and happy 60th, you magnificent menace.
