Run #3181 by Skidmark at Leader Gardens

Run Report

Four long years had passed since PH3 last disgraced itself at Leader Gardens, so naturally everyone had forgotten just how steep, muddy and generally unpleasant the place could be. Skidmark dusted off the old run site and sent the ageing idiots charging into the jungle as if their knees still came with factory warranty. The regular early starters proudly set off ahead of the pack... only to discover an unexpected bar strategically placed to delay none other than serial front-runner Sam. Whether it was a tactical masterpiece or simply Skidmark's way of ensuring Sam finally slowed down remains under investigation by the International Hash Tribunal. Meanwhile, the comeback kids Pete and Iceman made their long-awaited return to PH3. their time away from the hash had clearly taught them wisdom, because for the very first time they looked at the long run, looked at each other, and collectively decided, "Short run lah." A decision that proved far wiser than Landslide's. Arriving ten minutes late, he begged for the courtesy of being waited for, only to spectacularly wipe out multiple times within the first five metres of muddy slope. Not fifty metres. Five. Gravity declared victory before the trail had even started. After enough slips to qualify as interpretive dance, he wisely surrendered to Mother Nature and retired before collecting any additional bruises. Those who survived the run were rewarded with a magnificent waterfall hidden in the jungle. It should have been a peaceful moment of appreciating nature. Instead, several of PH3's more artistically inclined—or just suspiciously enthusiastic —members immediately began striking glamorous photo poses worthy of a shampoo commercial. Somewhere, National Geographic quietly withdrew its photographers. Adding even more international flavour to the afternoon was the arrival of PH3's first Russian member in recent memory. Welcome Sasha—a Russian-American, a man successfully bridging the White West and the White East, proving once again that Hash diplomacy succeeds where world politics often fails. Back in the circle, Skidmark proudly announced that he had just delivered the greatest circle seen in recent PH3 history. A bold statement. A brave statement. Unfortunately for him, history immediately replied with the only appropriate song: "Bullshit! Bullshit! Sounds like bullshit to me... to me!" The chorus echoed far more convincingly than the claim itself, beers disappeared at an impressive pace, and everyone agreed that while Skidmark may not own the greatest circle, he certainly owns the greatest ignorance. Which, in hashing, often counts for more. Verdict: Fantastic return to a forgotten run site. Excellent trail, beautiful waterfall, slippery entertainment courtesy of Landslide, and a brand-new Russian-American hasher to confuse future attendance lists. Skidmark's circle? Jury still out.... On On — and next time, less self-praise and more bullshit-proof evidence!
